Authors of Yale Document now offer FAQ


Authors of the Yale document written in response to "A Common Word" have now offered a 9-page document answering many frequently asked questions.

The tone of the document is sincere, and this should serve to calm the fears that the document is some vast agenda to undermine the Christian faith. That is clearly not the intent of many who signed the original Yale response. However, the FAG sheet continues to defend the decision not to use Christ as a starting point in the (hoped for) interfaith dialogue with Muslims.

We must give the Yale authors (and signatories) some credit. While they are willing to compromise on the proclamation of the centrality of Christ when (supposedly) speaking for the Christian community, they are not willing to compromise on their compromise. That's good, sort of....
