Podcast #2 - Counting Coconuts

  1. You must have watched too many NFL Films features with the voice of John Facenda setting the scene at "the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field."

We don't live in/near the tundra, be it frozen or thawed. Per the Univ. of Calif., "Tundra is the coldest of all the biomes. Tundra comes from the Finnish word tunturi, meaning treeless plain. It is noted for its frost-molded landscapes, extremely low temperatures, little precipitation, poor nutrients, and short growing seasons. Dead organic material functions as a nutrient pool. The two major nutrients are nitrogen and phosphorus. Nitrogen is created by biological fixation, and phosphorus is created by precipitation. "

That may describe the property here at El Rancho Reformado, but certainly NOT Northern Michigan in general.

Your point, though, concerning "the church" is well taken.

  2. Do you know how long it took me to get that intro made? Editing the music was a pain----so, despite my obvious ignorance of basic physical habitats, the 'tundra' reference will have to stay...for the time being at least. LOL

  3. Do you use Audacity as your editor? If not, it has three primary attributes:

    1) It's free
    2) It's easy to use
    3) It's free

Even works on a Mac for you technophiles.

  4. Is there any way to make the font on that audio player gizmo bigger (or it is fixed by the widget?)? For you young dudes it may be fine, but a 0.00000002 font size presents issues for us seniors.

    Thanks.
