New Books while on Vacation

I took the opportunity to hit three bookstores while in Grand Rapids, Michigan. For those of you who are Christians and love good Christian books, but have never been to the GR area, you are certainly missing out! It has some of the best Christian bookstores in the entire country. Here's what I added to my library:

James Murphy, A Critical and Exegetical Commentary on Exodus (Tentmaker Publishers)
Craig Keener, The Gospel of John: A Commentary, 2 Vols (Hendrickson Publishers)
Tremper Longman III, Proverbs: Baker Commentary on the Old Testament (Baker Books)
John Muddiman, The Epistle to the Ephesians: Black's New Testament Commentary (Hendrickson)
George Horne, Commentary on the Psalms (Old Paths Publications)
George Newton, George Newton on John 17 (Banner of Truth)
G.K. Beale, A New Testament Biblical Theology (Baker Books)
Grosheide, Commentary on the First Epistle to the Corinthians (Eerdmans) - USED
F.F. Bruce, The Epistle to the Romans: Tyndale Commentaries (Eerdmans) - USED
Alexander Ross, The Epistles of James and John (Eerdmans) - USED
Francis Schaeffer, Joshua and the Flow of Biblical History (IVP) - USED

  1. Baker, Reformation Heritage and .........Credo? Kregel? Eerdmans?

T-minus 17 days for my next wealth redistribution venture to Grand Rapids.

Have you ever tried purchasing printed PDFs using Google Books? I was reading Spurgeon's "Commenting and Commentaries" and thought it may be worthwhile to get one he mentioned, which would cost a fortune if bought used/collectible - it's out of print. I picked up one of the volumes of Kitto's Pictorial Bible - it comes in paperback (perfect bound)and it was better than I thought it would be, at a price you couldn't get from a used bookseller.
